Ekin manages AES’ regional growth initiatives, including origination and execution of business development and M&A opportunities. Ekin serves on the Boards of AES’ Jordan and India businesses, as well as multiple holding companies of AES in the UK and the Netherlands.

Prior to his current role, Ekin served as M&A Director for AES in Europe, where he led sizable transactions including acquisitions, asset sales, restructurings and commercial optimizations. Ekin was formerly a Senior Manager with Deloitte Corporate Finance focusing on M&A Advisory in the Power and Utilities Group.

Ekin has a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance degree and a Master’s of Business Administration degree from California State University and completed executive continued education and leadership programs at the University of Virginia’s Darden Business School, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and IMD Business School. Ekin has successfully completed the Renewable Energy Management Program of the Universität St. Gallen in Switzerland.
