Truc Bai Son is one of the most well-known mountains in Quang Son commune, Hai Ha district in Quang Ninh Province, and is also one of the province’s main biosphere reserves. The lake at the foot of the mountain serves as the main supply of fresh water for more than 3,100 hectares of agricultural land, as well as for thousands of people living in the area. 

In partnership with the Forest Protection Management Board for Truc Bai Son mountain, AES Mong Duong reforested 26.9 hectares of pine trees in the 2014-2017 period. The AES team worked with local partners to identify suitable locations and monitored activities closely in order to ensure the best results from the project. 

The initiative contributes to the realization of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 15 Life on Land.

Impact:

26.9 hectares of pine trees planted. The project contributes to mitigation of climate change, preservation of biodiversity and ecological balance in the area. It also helps to halt soil erosion, ensure water supply and increase the overall quality of life for 60,000 local residents.
