Nam joined AES Vietnam in 2013 and has more than 15 years of experience in the power generation industry.

Nam leads the Operations Department of AES Mong Duong Power Co. Ltd. and is responsible for the safe, environmentally sound, reliable and efficient operation of the 1,120 MW (net) Mong Duong 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant. His role extends beyond operations into maintenance, engineering, safety and environmental compliance, and the plant’s commercial activities. He leads around 130 operators and works closely with the authorities, EVN, NSMO and local communities.

Nam champions continuous improvement, focusing on plant efficiency, sustainable byproduct use and digitalization. He places equal emphasis on people development, building team capability and a strong pipeline of future leaders. Guided by AES’s values of Safety First, All Together and Highest Standards, he fosters a culture of ownership, collaboration and operational excellence.

Nam has grown with the plant since joining as a Shift Operator, progressing through the roles of Operation Shift Leader and Power Block Team Leader before being appointed Operations Manager in 2023 – a journey that has given him a deep understanding of the plant and its people.

Nam holds a bachelor’s degree in Thermal Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, as well as EVN’s Power Plant Operation Shift Leader certification. He has also completed various programs in leadership, coaching and human performance.
